World Race Gap Year offers five different routes, each lasting 9 months. At some point, every racer has to make a choice: which route to rank highest on their application. Each route has different focus areas, different countries, and different opportunities, and it was tough to choose. I spent a month trying to decide which route I should go for, and eventually, God called me to The Pilgrimage Route.
While on The Pilgrimage, I will be working with my squad, doing mission work in seven different countries across Europe and Asia. These countries include: Portugal, Spain, Romania, Greece, Nepal, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
Portugal and Spain will include a trek to unreached areas that will take about a month, and I will be doing a trek in Nepal as well. Ministry in these countries will happen on the trail, as well as in remote villages that are hard to reach without a hike.
While in Romania, Greece, Vietnam, and Cambodia, I will have opportunities to partner with local ministries to help with childrenโs programs, assist with practical needs, teach English, and just be there for the people of God.
Each country I visit will be different. Different cultures, different foods, different landscapes, different needs for ministry, different adventures. But in each of these seven countries, I will be focused on the same goal. While I am on the World Race, I want to be doing all that I can to grow closer to God, and serve Him and His people, all while living in a strong community with those around me.
